Solid Waste and Recycling

DAMA has teamed with J.P. Mascaro & Sons to haul away your household solid waste and recycling.

TRASH

There is a TWO bag limit on trash. Collection starts at 6:00am on scheduled day. Additional bag stickers are $3.00 and are available at: Dallas Centre Hardware, Cook’s Pharmacy, Thomas’ Market, and Newell Fuel Service.

RECYCLING

Recycling will be collected every week. Please refer to the calendar to know when the proper items may be placed curbside. The following items get recycled:

Cans (Blue Bin Week)

Aluminum beverage cans and steel and tin food cans. Please rinse the can and remove the lid or push it into the can. No need to remove labels. NO FOIL OR FOOD TRAYS, PLEASE!

Glass (Blue Bin Week)

Food and beverage containers such as jars and bottles only! Clear, green, or brown glass. Remove lids and rinse. Leave labels on. No light bulbs, mirrors, window glass, etc. Cans and glass may be mixed together in the same recycling container.

Plastics (Blue Bin Week)

#1 and #2 food and detergent containers only. The number is on the bottom of the bottle. Most soda, milk, and water bottles fit this category.

Paper/Cardboard (White Week)

Newspapers, magazines, office paper, and phone books less than an inch and a half thick must be tied in bundled or bagged with paper grocery bags and placed at the curb.

Important Notice for Owners of Rental Properties

Due to the numerous accounting and clerical problems, in adition to the increased work load for our office staff, Effective January 1, 2004, DAMA will no longer bill tenants separately for the use of the DAMA Public Sewer System, or the solid waste and recycling program. All bills associated with DAMA services provided to apartments or other renal units will be sent directly to the property owner of record.

We apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause, however we feel the savings of time and human resources which in turn help to stabilize the cost of providing municipal services to our customers, will be most beneficial to all parties concerned.
